There is a learning curve for beginners, and the technique can be quite different from traditional ocean surfing. Highly recommend first timers start on the 30ft wave channel for the best experience and value.
With over double the wave length of the 30-foot channel, you’ll have a longer wave face, allowing you to generate more speed, execute harder carving turns and advanced maneuvers in various sections of the wave.
Whether you’re working on technical maneuvers, speed generation, or simply enjoying the challenge of a larger, faster wave, the 65-foot wave channel provides the perfect environment to for training or soul surfing.
Bring Your Own Surfboard:
You are welcome to bring your own surfboard to the session, but please be aware that The LineUp is not liable for any potential damage to personal gear during your time on the wave. Surfers are required to wear a leash.

- Check-in at Guest Services located on the Wave Deck (next to WaveBar) in front of the wave pool.
- Recommend arriving and checking in 30 minute prior to your scheduled surf session.

- Riders must be 10years or older and 90lbs
- Wave riders must wear a leash.
- Session may be subject to a minimum number of surfers. Surfers may need to be re-booked, refunded or issued a gift card for future use.

Wai Kai reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel any booking at any time, for any reason. In the event of a cancellation, guests will be offered alternative booking options or a full refund.
Restrictions
- Minimum 4 feet in height an 90lbs
- 10+ years of age
- Able to swim/Comfortable in turbulent water
- Adequate physical fitness (as evaluated by the surf coaches)
- Have proper surf/bathing attire to withstand high flow water
- First time riders must ride a soft top board and use safety helmet for of 3 waves.
- Surfers are required to wear a leash.
- Session may be subject to a minimum number of surfers.
Itinerary
When traveling from Waikiki or the North Shore, traffic can be unpredictable, so it’s important to plan ahead.
